Campaign Module

     Wednesday 24th November 2010

Today I plan to create a feasibility table to see which type of campaign would be the best option to carry out.

Today is the first day of the Campaign module. We will be creating a campaign for an upcoming festival we will do in the festival module.

I first started doing LO1, where I research into existing campaigns and comment on their main message, strategy, target audience and success rate. The campaigns I chose are as follows:

  • NSPCC, campaign to Protect all Children
  • Make a Wish, Cadbury Wishes campaign
  • World Health Organisation, World Mental Health campaign
  • Peta, Kentucky Fried Cruelty campaign
  • Body By Milk, Got Milk? campaign
  • Help For Heroes, Skydive in aid of H4H campaign
  • Comic Relief, Red Nose Day campaign
I then created my feasibility table where i explored the price, effectiveness and difficulty of each campaign idea. I needed to figure out which campaign would be most appropriate for us to do. it is shown on my feasibility table which campaigns i will explore further.

A strength of mine today was being able to thin of many different, interesting and original ideas for campaigns and finding smaller existing campaigns rather than the main ones everyone knows about. Not many people would be aware of World Mental Health Day so this gives me a good comparison of success with the other campaigns.
A weakness of mine today was not finishing my LO1, however. I have started it and it wont take much time to finish it.
A target for improvement is to work quicker on tasks.
A skill i've learnt is how to evaluate different aspects of ideas (cost, effectiveness, difficulty)
Next week I plan to plan and create a logo for the event.
