Today I plan to email sticker companies and compare prices to see if the secret campaign is possible. I will also email Galaxy Radio.
Today i emailed two of the cheapest and most local sticker companies. It turns out that I did in fact find a cheap company - Digital Print partnership would give us 200 stickers of our logo for £27.67. but keeping in mind that there are over 1500 students and teachers in the school it wouldn't be enough. Wanting this amount of stickers would increase the cost greatly if everyone wanted a sticker which we would have hoped. However, i did order a sample pack of stickers so that i can see the quality of them. This campaign wouldn't work out, this was a Gurilla ( original and extraordinary campaign such as a flash mob, custard pie fight etc) campaign i came up with, because this didn't work out i will stick to social networking sites, posters etc...
I also got a reply from Galaxy Radio to advertise a 10 second advert about the festival. to play the advert from the 17/01/2011 - 03/04/11 would be £4,700.50. This was a ridiculous price as we do not have that sort of budget and it would defeat the money of raising money for charity.
I presented this to the rest of the group. i explained what i had researched and how i would go about creating my campaign which has now changed. The group were very supportive and offered feedback, agreeing that the secret campaign would be very successful but it's too costly and difficult to carry out on a limited budget.
A strength of mine today was being independent and emailing various companies to gather research and ordering a sample pack.
A weakness of mine was not really having a main backup campaign, once my secret campaign didn't work out i only had assemblies, posters and PD sessions left
A target for improvement is to always have a backup plan incase something doesn't work out. This is a valuable lesson that i will keep in mind in the future
A skill i've learnt today is how to use my initiative to go out of my way to get independent research and to be confident enough to enquire about stickers and radio adverts.
Next week i plan to create posters to promote the festival.
